Video decoding, OCR, and Markdown generation happen on your device. Videos, recognized text, filenames, and saved documents are not sent to the developer.
If you choose “Allow Analytics,” the app sends coarse events such as app opened, scan started or completed, scan failed or cancelled, export action, paywall view, purchase status, app version, device class, counts, and durations. Events use random installation and session identifiers. They do not include your Apple Account, advertising identifier, video, recognized text, filename, precise device model, or exact location.
Analytics are used only to understand reliability, feature use, and purchase conversion. You can turn analytics off in Settings. Turning it off deletes queued events on your device and resets its random identifier. Previously received aggregate events are retained for product analysis and are not used for advertising or tracking across apps.
Lifetime purchases are processed by Apple. The app reads Apple-verified entitlement status to unlock the full version; the analytics service does not receive receipts or Apple Account information.
The app sends recognized text to ChatGPT only when you tap Ask ChatGPT, review the notice, and confirm. OpenAI handles that text under its own privacy policy.
